Struggling Father desirous to see his Son - 15

My Dearest Beta Shanu,

I almost felt yesterday that I’m with you and we are on swing and I’m pushing the swing and you are saying “Papa, swing more! more!” Then suddenly when I stepped in to touch you it was a mirage; maybe not; it is the air which may have touched you and came to me. I felt very calm, though there was a sorrow in my heart, but a beauty of love and your smiling face encapsulated me with a thin luminous white light of hope left behind that we will meet; again! soon! very soon!. Son, strange things happen when you love someone very much and your prayers to god and your loved ones are merged. Though we have been forced to separate but it’s ironical that you have come more closer to me. My worries, sadness and anxieties about your welfare will always remain because of my past experiences but your love and your tiny hands and small cheeks, pink lips, smile and laughter, your tiny footsteps, yours kicks to the football, your struggle with the cycle; your head on my shoulders, your sleep and sound of content; … will enable me to carry on with the rest of the days on my life. Your face gives me peace and you will spread peace and love in the world. When you were born and then went into a sleep, the nun told me that people who wake after the long birth sleep are divine and will improve the humanity and nature. You are very special, my son, very special.

Today I will narrate you a small story from the lessons of Swami Vivekananda. Vivekanadaji is one the most admired leaders, philosopher and saint of India. This is a story of one his visits to Japan. Dearest beta here is the story:

Swami Vivekananda was the guest of honor at the palace of Japanaese king while the Swamiji was on his visit to Japan. He was shown certain miniature tress which normally cannot flourish in flower pots. Swamiji was simply baffled. “How could you manage it?”, he questioned the gardeners. “Well, sir that is very simple. The height of the tree depends on its roots. The deeper the roots, the higher will the tree be.” Here in this case he took ample care to see that the roots were regularly pruned and thwarted, with the result that the height of these trees was hindered. We have to fix up the roots very firmly if we want to grow. HA! HA! HA!

Ok, now here is our regular story from panchtantra, this is a story of faithful mongoose. Below is the story:

A kind Brahmin once found a baby mongoose whining in a jungle. He took the mongoose in his house. Brahmin had a little son who use to play with mongoose. Slowly both of them started growing and became friends. Mongoose had sharp teeth, which forced a doubt in Brahmin’s wife that he is dangerous and wild animal. One day while baby was sleeping, Brahmin’s wife went to river to wash clothes. Meanwhile a large snake came to bite the brahmin’s son. Mongoose challenged the snake and after a fight snake was killed. Mongoose also got injured. When brahmin’s wife came back from the river she saw the mongoose with blood on his face and body. Brahmin’s wife baseless fears conquered her thinking and she killed the mongoose thinking that he has hurt her son. When she went inside the house she saw a dead snake and the baby was sleeping peacefully. She realized that the mongoose she has killed actually saved the life of her own son. She repented what she has done but alas it was too late.
