Struggling Father desirous to see his Son - 16
My Dearest Beta Shanu,
Yesterday, I met two brothers while I was going in front of the hospital. The older brother’s name is Shyam. Shyam is 9 years old. The younger brother’s name is Maki. Maki is 3 years old. How I came to know them? Beta, you are young and innocent, and thus know the life as it is, thus I will tell you the background whenever God allows us to see each other. Today it’s not relevant as you are God’s swaroop to me and thus know everything which is unknown. Anyway Shyam and Maki love each other very much and they live under a tree on the roadside. Maki recently is suffering from meningitis as it’s spreading all over northern India. Shyam though very small talks like a big man and eats his dinner only after making sure his small brother has eaten. Yesterday I cooked for them and had my lunch with the two brothers. I asked them if they would like to study, I also told them about you, they were very happy when I told them about your and mine stories and acts we use to do together. I also narrated and did exercise with them as we use to do together:
Watermelon - Watermelon
Pineapple – Pineapple
Ba-na-na-na-na-na - Ba-na-na-na-na-na
Fruit-salad (fast)
Are you doing your regular exercise which we use to do together?
Beta, how are you? Are you taking your milk and food properly? Does everyone speaks and listens to you politely? Are you going to school? Very soon I will start sending you small essays of great mountains, rivers, scholars and sages along with stories and pictures and artwork. I hope my stories and lessons are reaching you and someone is reciting them to you in a child like way. Do you get to listen to stories in the night? Do you get your regular body oil massage and bath daily? I love you beta and hope we will be united together very soon.
Today I will narrate you a small essay on one our great freedom fighters Sardar Bhagat Singh as he is known in Punjab, the state’s capital where I was born. Who has not heard of Bhagat Singh? He was deeply affected by the Jallianwalla Bagh massacre in which unarmed Indians gathered at a peaceful meeting were mowed down by General Dyer. I will tell you about Jallianwalla Bagh and British raj in India in my next letters. Another incident which deeply affected him was the British policeman beatup Lala Lajpat rai who was leading a non-violent march of unarmed people to protest the Simon commission. So severe were his injuries that he succumbed to them. Bhagat Singh fought with British thru out his life. Though his methods were violent but the motive was pure to free India. He is one of the great heroes of India. Have you read the amar chitra katha of Bhagat Singhji? I will send you the photograph of Bhagat Singhji in next e-mail.
Ok, now here is our regular story from panchtantra, this is a story of jackal and drum. Below is the story:
“
Once upon a time there lived a jackal in a jungle. Poor jackal has not eaten for many days and was very hungry. In search of food he wandered in the jungle. As he was wandering in the jungle in search of food he came across a old battlefield. Jackal thought, “What’s that noise? I’d better run before I’m attacked” He ran hard “WHIR! WHOOSH! WHIR! WHOOSH!” While he was running he thought why is running? He told himself, “I’ll be brave and find out who’s making the noise” So he crept back trying to be brave. To his astonishment jackal found that the noise was coming from the harmless old war drum. The low branches of the tree were swishing against the drum and thus were making the noise. Near the drum there was plenty of food. Jackal thought, “ What a fool I had have been if I had let a silly old drum cheat me of all this delicious food. He ate the food whole heartedly and enjoyed it. HA! HA!HA!
“
