Struggling Father desirous to see his Son - 37
My Dearest Beta Shanu,
How are you beta? I’m little bit struggling with my physical health so was not able to send you the letter yesterday and day before yesterday. Are you observing and enjoying the change of climate from winters to summers. Have you noticed the change in the air, grass, leaves, barks of the trees and birds? You must have noticed more birds venturing outside than they were there in winters. We are very fortunate in India that we get to see and feel all types of climate. The trick is to enjoy it and learn from it. Are you running on the greener pastures of grass a lot as we use to do it when we were together? Try the tumble rumble also as it’s lots of fun. Play football with your friends, it will make you strong and enhance your coordination skills. Always in the morning try to run and play as much as you can. Try to sleep by 9:00 PM in the night. I don’t know who will be narrating you stories, but that should not stop you from reading stories or even imagining them. Imagination is the most beautiful form of creativity and I’m sure given the innocence and talent embedded in you, you will be one day the most creative leader and path provider. You will always be happy, I will pray and pray to the Lord.
Continuing on our storytelling journey, here is today’s stooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooorieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Beta today’s story is taken from the famous folk tales of fables. This is story of a Monkey and Bell. Enjoy!
“
A long time ago there was a little silver bell tied to the door of the small temple in a village. The village was on the edge of a big forest. One day a thief stole the bell and ran with it to the nearby forest. But on the same day the thief was killed and eaten by the tiger in the forest.
The people of the village were sad when they found out that the temple bell was missing. One day they heard the sound of the temple bell from the nearby forest. Then they use to hear it almost daily coming from different directions. The people of the village got scared and thought that they will have to find out the mystery of the missing bell and sound of the bell.
The next day, a small boy from the village decided to find out what was really happening and went into the jungle. After walking some distance he heard the sound of drum beats and the sound of the ringing bell. He boldly went towards the direction of the sound and found a group of monkeys were playing with a broken drum and the bell. He understood the mystery behind the sound. He waited patiently till one of the monkey was alone playing with the bell. Then quickly he placed lots of fruits and nuts on the forest floor in front of the monkey who was playing with the bell. The monkey came forward and tried to grab all the fruits and nuts in his one hand. But there were so many fruits that he failed to snatch all of them in one hand. So he left the bell and took the remaining fruits in his other hand.
The clever boy immediately took the bell and returned to his village. He then placed the bell again in the temple.
