Struggling Father desirous to see his Son - 28

My Dearest Beta Shanu,

The beautiful bond between you and me is free from “…ands” i.e. commands, demands etc., as “…ands” is applicable for boundaries of finite values. But the values which we have are more abstract and thus infinite as they have no shape, boundaries and are not supposed to be explained but to be experienced. I know that in your tender age you may not have the vocabulary to understand my sentences, but I know for sure your simplicity and honesty of expression is far more capable of grasping it. In fact I have learnt this by observing you and your pure expressions. In my mediation our bond comes in various forms of images like Lord Shiva embracing you and me OR goddess Gayatri showering flowers of enlightment on both of us with you sitting on my padmasana. The images are always overwhelming but it adds more energy to the infiniteness of the bond of love and peace which we desire. I was always amazed at your ability to give and forgive, your absolute sense of courage to express your inner feelings to me have always touched and inspired me. Your soothing sentences of encouragement shared with me are source of nectar of life and inspiration to live. My dearest son we will again play with butterflies, we will run over the green lush lawns, we will run into playing teams of basketball and soccer, we will jump and jump again in the clogged rainwater, we will climb on the mango trees, we will make small castles with sand and stone, we will and we will one day, I hope and I pray!

Shanu beta, very soon I will send you the jungle book which I’m writing for you. I will try to finish it very soon. I will also compile all the stories and pictures I have sent and will try to send them as I have done it in my previous book sent to you.

Continuing on our storytelling journey, here is today’s stooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooorieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Beta today’s story is one of the famous folk tales of South India. Enjoy!

Once in the jungle there lived a dog with two puppies. The puppies use to bark a lot when dog was away in the search for food. The neighbors use to complain a lot about the puppies.

The dog use to request neighbors to apply restraint as the puppies are very small and they will bark. He also requested puppies not to trouble the neighbors any more.

One day when the dog went into the deep jungle to find food, a fox attacked him and killed the dog. Before dying he went to his puppies and explained them what has happened and requested them to take care of themselves.

The small puppies went to neighbors for help, but the neighbors behaved very badly with the puppies and asked them to leave from the neighborhood.
Crying the puppies went to their father’s friend elephant. The elephant kept the puppies in his house but told them not to bark as that will invite tiger. But the puppies will have to bark, how can puppies stop barking? So one day elephant asked them to leave his house.

The puppies went to tiger and requested him to help them. The tiger allowed them to stay with them. But one day when he was hunting the puppies barked and his prey ran away. Thus an angry tiger asked them to go away.

Puppies started crying, on hearing their cries a hunter who was hunting in the forest came and took them to his house. The puppies were very happy to meet his children. They played with them and everyone liked when they barked as it scared the thieves. The hunter also helped puppies to catch and punish fox who has killed their father. After that the puppies lived happily.

HA! HA! HA!
