Struggling Father desirous to see his Son - 29
My Dearest Beta Shanu,
Beta, I’m little bit sick and bed ridden so was not able to send you my letter yesterday and day before it. Today there is bit less physical weakness so trying to present my thoughts and my love and my affection and my prayers. Beta, thoughts and images of you flow and surround me and inspire me. Beta, how are you? Are you observing and enjoying sunrise and sunset daily. Sometimes when my eyes are closed I see light whiteness surrounding me and smoke clearing and you being united with me. I dream to live the wonderful moments when we will be together, Lord will ultimately materialize my memories and dreams, and we will play together among the green fields and foothills of mountains and on the banks of sacred rivers; where the air is holy, and water is pure and spirituality provides bliss to all. May the white swan, the green parrots, blue clouds and rain droplets carry my blessings and love and prayers and stories to you. I hope I will hold your tiny fingers and you will hold mine and both us will walk together. Then I will hold you and then you will sit on my shoulders and I will run and run and you will laugh and laugh and we will play and keep on playing and keep on… I pray and I hope, my dear child.
My dearest beta, very soon I will send you the jungle book which I’m writing for you. I will try to finish it very soon. I was not able to draw and send pictures due my physical weakness and illness, but I will recover and write it to you. I will also compile all the stories and pictures I have sent and will try to send them as I have done it in my previous book sent to you.
Continuing on our storytelling journey, here is today’s stooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooorieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Beta today’s story is one of the famous folk tales of fables. Enjoy!
“
In a farm yard a farmer used to stack all his hay. His cattle grazed on a large meadow outside the farm yard. Each day his cattle would return to farm yard. There they would chew the food the farmer provided. And take shelter from the dark and cold of the night.
One day the farmer’s dog stumbled into the farm yard. He did not like the way the farmer took care of his cattle, providing them with shelter and food. He felt that the farmer has not treated him with same care and affection and for this he wanted to punish the cattle. At dusk, when the cattle returned, they saw the farmer’s dog sleeping on the manger. The dog was pretending to be asleep.
The hungry cattle did not wanted to disturb the dog. “He must be weary,” they said. Hours passed. The cattle grew even more hungry. But the dog continued pretending to sleep.
Then, one of the cattle gently pushed the dog with its horns, being very careful not to hurt it. The dog still pretending barked at the cattle in anger for disturbing his sleep.
“How can you harm a sleeping dog?” he howled. The cattle were surprised. “We wanted you not to sleep on the hay so that we could eat our fodder,” said one of the cow pleadingly.
“You will have to pay for this”, said the cruel dog, “All of you must go hungry the whole night. Out of the farm, all of you”, he commanded.
The cattle was shocked. There was nothing they could do. They all walked out hungrily. The night passed by ever so slowly. It was morning finally and the cattle struggled to their feet. Their legs were weak and they could not even stand up. They lay groaning in pain.
The farmer who happened to pass by, heard the noise. He saw his cattle lying down in pain. One of the cattle told him what had happened. The farmer got very angry with the arrogant dog. He asked the dog to apologize to cow and never rep[eat his behavior again in such a fashion.
HA! HA! HA!
