My Dearest Beta Shanu,

Beta, did you happen to go thru the book which I have created for you and sent to you? Did you like it? Please try to make as many pictures and sentences for each of the alphabets and sentences in the book. I will also try to continuously improve the book and send it to you.
Do you recognize the photo of the animal which I have sent with this letter, It’s a alligator. HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Yes! A for Alligator.

Alligator is from the family of crocodile.

Yes, Shanu beta, C from crocodile.

It's not cute or cuddly. It doesn't have big gentle eyes. It's been around since the dinosaurs were here. Remember we saw a movie of dinosaurs.

D for dinosaurs.

Crocodile and alligator have skin like armor and big powerful jaws.
Do you know there are 21 different kinds of crocodilians in the world? Some have longer and some have shorter bodies. Some have thinner or wider snouts. All the crocodilians have one thing in common. They all live in wet habitats at the water's edge.
Crocodiles can be as long as 14 to 30 feet. Do you remember the ruler/scale which we use to draw straight lines, one ruler is one foot which is 12 inches.

Alligators have broader, blunter snouts, which give their heads a triangular appearance; also, the lower tooth does not protrude when the mouth is closed, as it does in the crocodile.

So what are the words we have learnt today?

Once upon a time there lived a merchant. His name was Mani. He was virtuous, rich and generous. Men flocked to his house to enjoy his hospitality. Then one day, by making a bad investment he lost all his wealth and consequently all his friends. One night the noble merchant was feeling very sad, and fell asleep. In his sleep he saw an amazing dream. He saw a monk in his dream, he told the merchant that next day in the morning he will come to merchant’s house, and when he comes merchant should touch his head with a stick and he will turn into gold.” Next day merchant woke up and there was a knock at the door. It was barber, and he started shaving merchant’s beard. Suddenly there was another knock on the door. Merchant went to open the door, and there was the same monk at the door who had come in his dream. Merchant took the stick and gently touched on monk’s head and Wow! Monk turned into gold. He gave some gold to barber and requested him not to tell anyone. Barber immediately took a stick and went to monastery and started hitting the monks with the stick. On hearing the cries of the monks king’s men came to their rescue and caught the barber and took him to king’s court. The barber described to the king what he seen at merchant’s house. King summoned the merchant, and merchant told king all about himself, his dream and monk’s command. King ordered his men to put the greedy barber in prison.

HA! HA! HA!
