Struggling Father desirous to see his Son - 24
My Dearest Beta Shanu,
How are you beta? How did you like the pictures of crocodile, kangaroo, lion and cheetah which I sent you in my previous letter? Did you like the story also?
Did you recognize the photos of the animal which I have sent with this letter, it’s a LEOPARD, KHARRAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Yes! L for LEOPARD.
Now continuing our series of learning more about the big cats, today we will learn and have fun with leopard.
You know beta, unlike lions and cheetahs, leopards eat and sleep on trees.
Among the tall branches, leopards keep themselves-and their food-hidden from hyenas, lions, and other animals.
Leopards are the smallest of the African big cats. Leopard are very light but, they are strong enough to carry an animal their own weight up a tree. And leopards are not picky eaters. They eat antelope, deer, monkeys, birds, fish, and insects.
Shanu beta, big cats may be dangerous animals. But they, themselves, are in real danger today. That's because towns and farms are taking over wilderness areas, leaving fewer and fewer places for the animals to live. As their habitats shrink, all big cats struggle to survive.
Some new simple words we have learnt today,
Try to make sentences as they are used above:
1. Leopard
2. Branches
3. Food
4. Trees
5. Hyenas
6. Deer
7. Monkey
8. Bird
9. Fish
10. Insects
11. Town
12. Farms
Try to think, remember and make sentences of the above words. Also try to paint the pictures of Leopard. You will enjoy it as you use to do when we were together.
Now its storyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy timeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
Today I will narrate you a small story from Jataka. This is a story of a King and a monkey. Dearest beta here is the story, please enjoy:
“
It was the onset of the winter season. Days became cold. On morning the king received shocking news from his ministers, that there has been a outbreak of mutiny in his kingdom. King asked his army to gear up to quell the mutiny. The next morning king and his army marched towards the place where there was outbreak of mutiny. The king led the army and his anger grew no bounds. “How dare my own people revolt against me?” Marching a whole day, the army came to the foot of the mountain. He ordered his army to halt at the foot of the mountain for a night. The night was very cold. Some horses took ill. The tired soldiers camped under the tree. One of the soldiers prepared to boil some gram in big vessel to feed the horses. Then a funny incident took place. Right atop the tree, a monkey was watching the cooking. He said “Whow grams, Hummy Hummmmmmmmmmmmieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee” and slowly came down and grabbed a fistful of gram and ran back to the tree top. The king and his men noticed the monkey and thus monkey got scared. While climbing up the tree the monkey dropped some grams. The monkey hung himself from the lower branch of the tree and tried to pick up the fallen grams. But in his haste he dropped even rest of the seeds that he had in his hand. Now the monkey felt disspointed.
HA! HA! HA!
